Today in history - Anne Boleyn Miscarried of her “saviour”
On 29 Janury 1536 Anne Boleyn miscarried “a male child which she had not borne 3½ months” as the spanish ambassador reported to the emperor. This pregnancy was Anne’s final chance to prove to Henry that she would keep her promise and give him the male heir he so desperately longed for. However, the Queen lost her son and with that her crown and her head the following spring.
